Goss about me
I'm Dr Rebecca Stafford. You may know me as Dr Habit. I have a PhD in health psychology (the interaction between mental & physical health), volunteered for 8 years as a Lifeline telephone counselor and have my own private practice helping people with (amongst other things) rapid habit change – including mental habits of stress & anxiety.

Additionally, I’m trained in hypnotherapy and Level 2 Reiki. I can't wait for level 3 Reiki - yet I will. Patience: it's a thing.

I live in crazy, beautiful New Zealand with my amazing partner 'the pirate', his gorgeous daughter, mental dogs (well, they are both lovely but one is also 'special') and my feral tabby cat.

I'm a hard core bookworm, addicted to delicious food and coffee, and have a thing for tropical fish and fish ponds. As a kid I felt so betrayed when I found out those 'Sea Monkeys' advertised in American comics (Donald Duck etc.) were actually brine shrimp - an ideal first food for newly hatched tropical fish but NOOOOOTHING like the advertised sea monkeys.

So. Devastated!

My guilty pleasure is 2-minutes noodles. In my defense, I work culinary magic with them.

If you'd like to watch a 1-minute video of me taking my feral puss around an obstacle course (it's awesome - she is very clever!) - click here.

If you'd like to know about some of the weirder things that have happened to me - which explain a little how I got involved with spirituality, click the green links below:

My encounter with the clairvoyant dominatrix (Does this kind of thing ever happen to any one else?)

What REALLY happened at the Tantra Workshop (Not as salacious as it sounds, but nonetheless that infamous workshop triggered the freakiest experience of my life to date. I think it is fair to say it was a spiritual awakening - the point at which I realized I wasn't who Ithought I was)
